The Jameson Cult Film Club returned to Dublin on Tuesday evening with an electrifying screening of the iconic musical comedy, The Blues Brothers.
Dublin’s Vicar Street was unrecognisable after it was transformed into the Joliet Correctional Centre. Characters from the movie, live theatre and special effects timed with on-screen action helped to create an electric atmosphere throughout the screening, including foam bricks dropping onto the laps of the unsuspecting audience during the bazooka scene and a live performance of the ‘We’re on a mission from God’ church scene complete with a preacher and dancers.
Refreshments came in the form of Jameson and ginger cocktails, along with authentic prison rations. DJ Aidan Kelly took to the decks after the screening, playing songs from the iconic soundtrack.
