I was heading to the States last month for an Irish/American wedding so I decided it was time for an anti-ageing facial to get my skin in tip top condition for my travels. I usually opt for a moisture/hydration-rich facial but this time I chose an exfoliating treatment to get rid of those dead skin cells and rejuvenate the complexion. My facial of choice? Murad’s AHA Rapid Exfoliator Facial at Therapie Clinic in Dublin.

Dr. Murad is widely acknowledged as one of the world’s foremost authorities on skin health. Murad founder, Dr Howard Murad is a practicing dermatologist, pharmacist and Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine (Dermatology) at the University of California. Every product/treatment is results-orientated and contains the best pharmaceutical-grade ingredients combined with the latest skincare technology. Dr Murad has even been hailed “one of the country’s best dermatologists” by Vogue magazine and a “Beauty Genius” by Elle magazine. Celebrity fans include Emily Blunt, Renee Zellweger and Kristin Davis.

The AHA Rapid Exfoliator facial is formulated to reduce the visible signs of ageing and promises to dramatically reduce lines and wrinkles and improve skin tone. This exfoliating treatment boasts a unique blend of antioxidants, anti-inflammatories and hydrators to soothe and smooth the skin to reveal brighter, softer, healthier and younger-looking skin.

Luckily for me, my skin responds well to any sort of pampering so I’ll always find the good in most treatments I try. This was definitely the case for this particular facial. The experience itself was relaxed and calming, which was exactly what I needed after a hectic pre-holiday build-up.

The results? My skin was glowing, smooth and soft to the touch. This wasn’t just a quick fix however and the results lasted right up until I hit Miami a couple of weeks later and treated my skin to some much-needed sun exposure!

€100 per treatment, 3 for price of 2 in August. Available at Therapie Clinics nationwide. www.therapieclinic.com
