Today we bring you some some 80s Flashback Monday nostalgia to help kick-start the new week.
The perfect soundtrack to those crazy Monday mornings, we can all relate to the lyrics of Manic Monday by 80s girlband, The Bangles.
Susanna Hoffs joined sisters Vicki and Debbi Peterson to form a band in LA in December 1980. The trio briefly called themselves The Colours, then renamed themselves The Supersonic Bangs, and shortly afterwards The Bangs. A legal issue forced the band to change their name to The Bangles.
Several small gigs and then serving as the opening act of Cyndi Lauper’s Fun Tour attracted the attention of Prince, who later wrote Manic Monday for the group.
Manic Monday went on to hit number two in the US, the UK and German music charts, outsold at the time only by another Prince song, Kiss.
