What do Ralph Lauren, Versace, Moschino and Giorgio Armani all have in common? Yes they are fashion designers, but did you know they also have their own hotels?
In the first of our Designer Hotels series we look at design house Versace’s Palazzo Versace resort hotel in Australia’s Gold Coast.
The world’s first fashion-branded hotel opened in September 2000 and boasts a spectacular waterfront setting. The distinctive vision of Gianni Versace, his audacious commitment to luxury and beauty, influenced his designs and translated into the décor of his homes.
Guests at the award-winning hotel are immersed from floor to ceiling in the Versace lifestyle – linens, rugs, cutlery and toiletries are not only part of the experience but are, of course, also available for purchase at the on-site Versace boutique.
Since it opened, the opulent resort hotel has attracted many a foreign and local celebrity and the parties thrown there were legendary; in fact every year the I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here stars enjoy pre-jungle pampering and post-jungle-hell partying at the hotel. Alas, it is now on the market with an €80 million price tag.
