WELFARE FRAUD REPORTING RISES TO 16,000

The public's reporting of suspected welfare fraud has risen dramatically, new figures have shown, with more than 16,000 cases of people allegedly fraudulently claiming welfare reported this year. The rise is a massive increase from reported cases in 2006, when only 579 cases of suspected fraud were reported.
