Libyan rebels have demanded that the country of Algeria extradites the wife and three children of Colonel Gaddafy, who were granted entry to the country after fleeing Libya. Banks have enough funds to write off a number of mortgages in arrears, Minister for Finance Michael Noonan has said. Figures released on Monday by the Central Bank have shown that more than 55,000 mortgages are in arrears. Of these, more than 6,000 are in arrears of 90 days or more.
